2010 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule & HOPPS Rules Released
The 2010 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) and Hospital Outpatient (HOPPS) rules have been released. The PFS includes provisions that would mean an 11% cut for cardiology in general and a 42% cut for our primary code, 93306 (transthoracic echo with spectral and color flow Doppler). ASE has actively worked to combat these reductions and is now working to challenge them in Congress - we will need the help and aggressive participation of our members to do so.
