Medicare reimbursement to physicians will be cut for crucial services - cuts that range to 40% on key life saving diagnostic procedures such as echocardiograms and cardiac stress tests. With such drastic reductions, private practices will have to make difficult decisions including, in some cases, closing their practices and referring patients who need these procedures to hospitals. This will make these services more difficult to access and much more expensive, both for Medicare and through patient co-pays or supplemental insurance premiums. Fight for your access to cardiovascular services—write your Congressman today! To view the the ASE Press Release regarding this issue, click here.
