About the ASE Foundation

You are invited to play a role in the future of cardiovascular ultrasound and become a supporter of the ASE Education and Research Foundation. The ASE Foundation provides support for education, research, quality improvement and professionalism, helping drive ASE's ongoing mission to serve its members and the larger community of health care providers and patients for whom cardiovascular ultrasound is essential.

When you give, you may direct your gift to projects most aligned with your personal priorities, although unrestricted gifts are, of course, welcome. ASE Foundation activities include:

  • ASE Learning Lab: establishing a small group learning center at ASE Headquarters to host hands-on classes with expert faculty.
  • Career Development/Scholarships: funding scholarships to encourage physicians and allied health professionals to pursue careers in cardiovascular ultrasound.
  • Guidelines and Standards: defining the practice of cardiovascular ultrasound through document development addressing the use of new technologies, condition-based use of ultrasound, and big-picture issues such as the use of echocardiography in clinical trials.
  • Professional Education: providing quality educational activities, both locally and nationally, for cardiovascular ultrasound professionals to explore emerging issues and developments in cardiovascular medicine.
  • Public Awareness of Cardiovascular Ultrasound: raising public awareness of cardiovascular ultrasound through outreach campaigns highlighting the important roles it plays in disease evaluation and management.
  • Quality Initiatives: participating in imaging initiatives, such as the development of the ACCF/ASE Appropriateness Criteria, to ensure the highest quality of patient care, and providing tools to facilitate the incorporation of quality into the practice of cardiovascular medicine.
  • Research: grant support of research demonstrating the key role cardiovascular ultrasound plays in the diagnosis and management of patients with heart and vascular disease, helping to advance patient care and assess outcomes.
  • Sonographer Training: supporting sonography schools and the development of additional clinical training sites through scholarships and grants for program development.
