Open positions on the ASE Board of Directors, ASE Foundation Board of Directors, and ASE Council Steering Committees will be posted on October 1, 2021.
You can start planning now if you are an active member and meet the criteria that will be outlined on October 1, you can ask a friend or colleague who is also a member to submit a nomination on your behalf. All positions are open to any member regardless of professional specialty (sonographer, pediatrician, critical care, circulation and vascular ultrasound, anesthesiologist, etc.). ASE is looking for a diverse pool of nominees.
The process is easy. Candidates need to have one letter of nomination, up to three letters of support from active members that outline the candidate’s leadership abilities, a current CV, a one to two-page personal vision statement, a completed brief online self-assessment survey, and a completed conflict of interest and disclosure statement. Full guidelines will be posted when nomination open.
In honor of their achievements, recipients the Board Positions receive:
- Complimentary meeting registration to ASE’s Scientific Sessions
- Recognition at ASE’s annual business meeting/plenary session
- Acknowledgement in JASE, ASE’s journal, and on ASE’s main website.
- Recognition in press releases to local and national outlets
Time Table for Nominations Process
- Call for Nominations: October 1 – November 30, 2021
- November 30, 2021: Deadline for candidates to submit all materials required (no exceptions)
- Mid-December: Notification of candidates for ASE Foundation Board
- January 1, 2022: ASE Foundation Board Membership Begins
- January 2022: Notification of candidates for ASE Board
- February 2022: Candidates approved by ASE’s Board of Directors
- April/May 2022: Ballot to membership for vote
- May 2022: Board Orientation
- June 2022: Election at Annual Meeting
- July 1, 2022: Board Membership Begins
