On March 14, 2025, ASE responded to the Request for Information (RFI) from the Trump Administration on the development of an AI Action Plan. In the comments, ASE expressed support for the responsible integration of AI into cardiovascular imaging to enhance diagnostic accuracy, efficiency, and patient outcomes, while ensuring patient safety and clinical integrity. ASE urges the establishment of standardized AI terminology, rigorous FDA-authorized validation processes, and differentiated payment models that recognize the essential role of clinicians in AI-supported care. The Society also highlights the need for a fair and balanced liability framework to reduce provider hesitancy and promote safe AI adoption. These recommendations aim to foster innovation while maintaining equity, oversight, and trust in AI-driven healthcare.
