Sonographer Challenge to Submit to CASE

The Council on Cardiovascular Sonography Steering Committee is very excited to announce that, in collaboration with the ASE Executive Committee, a challenge is being issued to ASE sonographer members around the world. Keith Collins, MS, RDCS, FASE, the Chair of the Steering Committee, noted, “Sonographers usually are not offered dedicated time in their work days to use for writing and submitting papers to professional journals. While we are not able to change this dynamic, we have worked with the ASE Executive Committee to remove one major barrier – paying for open access fees for accepted papers in CASE, ASE’s Case Reports Journal.”  Starting immediately, the Council will cover the open access fees for the first ten (10) sonographer-led case reports accepted in CASE through the end of 2022 (up to $950 per accepted case).

If potential authors would like input from a sonographer who has experience with writing case reports for publication, the Council is excited to share that they can pair an author with a mentor, upon request.  Papers published in CASE are indexed in PubMed Central, and are heavily promoted on social media and through other ASE channels.  All submissions must be done through the CASE Editorial Manager Portal, and the cover letter should highlight the sonographer authorship. Visit the CASE Author Information page for general format & structure guidelines. Email Debbie Meyer or Andie Piddington with any questions or to request mentorship.
