ASE is seeking the best and brightest members to move forward the mission and goals of the ASE Foundation.

Now is your opportunity to become a leader in ASE. If you are an active member and meet the criteria, ask a friend or colleague who is also a member to submit a nomination on your behalf. Positions are available on the ASE Foundation Board of Directors. All positions are open to any member regardless of specialty (sonographer, pediatrician, critical care, circulation and vascular ultrasound, anesthesiologist, etc.). ASE is looking for a diverse pool of nominees. 

The process is easy. Candidates need to have:
- one letter of nomination
- up to three letters of support from active members that outline the candidate’s leadership abilities
- a current CV
- a one-to two-page personal vision statement
- a completed online self-assessment survey
- a completed conflict of interest and disclosure statement.
All candidates must participate in a Social Media scan provided by a third-party vendor.
 

Open Foundation Positions & Criteria

ASE Foundation Board of Directors: Term Begins January 1, 2026 

10-person governing board charged with supervision, control and direction of the affairs of the ASE Foundation.

Global Representative
(2-Year Term)

Candidate must be a member of ASE’s International Alliance Program and preferably with ASE Foundation outreach experience

Member at Large
(3-Year Term)

Candidate must have experience with fundraising

Member at Large
(2-Year Term)

Candidate must be actively involved with ASE (serving on a committee/council/task force, writing group, etc.)

Member at Large
(3-Year Term)

Candidate must have experience with global medical outreach events (experience does not have to be specific to ASEF)

In honor of their achievements, those elected to the ASE Foundation Board Positions receive:

  • A seat at the table for guiding the foundation’s direction. 
  • Complimentary registration to the ASE Scientific Sessions 
  • Recognition at ASE’s annual business meeting/plenary session 
  • Acknowledgement in ASE’s Echo Magazine and on ASEF’s website. 
  • Recognition in press releases to local and national outlets 
  • Sonographer travel stipend for Scientific Sessions

Time Commitment for ASE Foundation Board Members

  • Spring Board of Directors Meeting via conference call 
  • June (2026) Board Meeting at ASE Scientific Sessions 
  • Fall Board of Directors Meeting via conference call 
  • Participation in any special meetings 
  • Must actively be involved with the ASE Foundation campaigns 

Meeting travel is not covered by the Foundation.
