Interested in Starting a SIG?
Ideas for a new Specialty Interest Group (SIG) can originate from any source. Establishing a new SIG requires the support of two (2) ASE members who are recognized experts in the proposed specialty area and are willing to serve in leadership roles during the development and launch of the SIG. These leaders should hold the credentials, designations, and expertise relevant to the specialty they seek to represent.
The proposed SIG leaders must submit a proposal to the ASE Executive Committee outlining how the SIG will support ASE's strategic goals while serving a distinct segment of the membership and enhancing the overall value of the Society. Over time, the SIG should demonstrate success in attracting new members to ASE, with growth reflecting new membership rather than the reclassification of existing members.
