ImageGuideEcho Research & Data Publications Committee

Charge(s):

• Develop pipelines for data access requests and authorship of publications arising from use of echo data from the registry module in manner consistent with furthering the field of cardiovascular imaging and not causing harm to echo as a modality.
• Review National Aggregate Reports quarterly from the ImageGuideEcho Registry.
• Ensure data access and publications align with existing precedents established by ASNC and the joint ImageGuide Registry Research and Publications Committee.
• Send recommendations with regard to the development of papers utilizing joint data (echo and nuclear) to the ImageGuide Research and Publications Committee based on the proposed impact for the field of echocardiography.
• Approve or deny access to echo-specific data subsets as requested by individual or group researchers, industry, or other registry stakeholders
• Provide peer review of the science of abstracts, papers, and presentations arising from the use of echo-specific data prior to journal or other entity submission.
• Submit periodic reports to the ImageGuide Registry Research & Publications Committee regarding the approval of data set access and papers in progress.

Chair and co-chair of the committee and two committee representatives will be appointed to the joint ImageGuide Research and Publications Committee.
Chair and co-chair will also serve as ex-officio members of the Registry Committee.

ImageGuideEcho Registry Committee

Charge(s):

• Leverage clinical and research knowledge for the strategic development of the ImageGuideEcho Module
• Oversee operations of the ImageGuideEcho Module
• Identify areas for additional data element development
• Define subsequent phases of data element development
• Chair and two committee members will represent ASE on the ImageGuide Registry Oversight Committee
• Identify potential funding sources and assist in obtaining funding for the registry as needed (industry or NIH)
• Advocate amongst other members for registry participation (word of mouth marketing) and within your own institution to ensure registry uptake
• Facilitate communication between ASE and software reporting vendors while requesting systems integration for minimal workflow impact for registry users
• Develop performance measures for the QCDR self-nomination period with CMS

  • Assist with the development of data definitions and specifications for pediatric and fetal echo
  • Advocate amongst other ASE members for registry participation (word of mouth marketing) and within your own institution to ensure ImageGuideEcho Pediatric Module uptake.
  • Facilitate communication between ASE and software reporting vendors while requesting systems integration for minimal workflow impact for ImageGuideEcho Pediatric Module users.

  • Assist with the development of data definitions and specifications for perioperative echo

  • Task force will operate as a sub-group of the broader ASE ImageGuideEcho Registry Committee

ImageGuide Registry Oversight Committee
(Joint Committee with ASNC)

The Registry Oversight Committee (ROC) shall be responsible for overall management and administration of the Registry, including but not limited to:

• Development, oversight, and management of Common Measures;
• Development and maintenance of a data repository for the Registry that serves research, policy, and quality improvement initiatives;
• Development of strategies for future Collaborator recruitment, Module interoperability, vendor expansion, and advancement of Registry functionality and metrics;
• Development of mutually agreed upon research and publication guidelines to ensure publications arising from the use of registry data further the field of cardiovascular imaging and do not harm unique modalities;
• Reviewing recommendations made by each Module’s subcommittee(s) with regard to the development of joint papers utilizing both echo and nuclear data.

ImageGuide Registry Research & Data Publications Oversight Committee
(Joint Committee with ASNC)

Charge(s):

• Develop guidelines for authorship of publications arising from use of joint nuclear and echo and/or future Collaborator module data from the registry in manner consistent with furthering the field of cardiovascular imaging and not causing harm to unique modalities;
• Ensure joint data research and publication guidelines are in alignment with each Module’s subcommittee(s) research and publication guidelines;
• Review recommendations made by each Module’s subcommittee(s) with regard to the development of papers utilizing joint data;
• Assure compliance with ImageGuideEcho Registry joint data publication policies in the event of a dispute at the subcommittee level;
• Provide peer review of the science of abstracts and papers from joint data prior to journal submission;
• Review, suggest necessary edits, and approve all publications and presentations arising from the use of joint data prior to submission, enlisting the special assistance of the Collaborators’ subcommittees whenever appropriate;
• Review all recommendations from each module RPC subcommittee regarding data request submissions of a single data set. The purpose is to ensure alignment across all modules. On the occasion of significant concerns by partners the RPC will make a recommendation.
