Cardio-Oncology Specialty Interest Group
There is currently a large population of people practicing and performing echocardiograms on patients that are undergoing cancer treatments and survivors. This group is for medical professionals with an interest or working in this new and upcoming field of cardio-oncology.
The goal of the Cardio-Oncology Specialty Interest Group is to help bring professionals working in this field together for tutorials, discussions, clinical education, research collaborations, and more. ASE members Alexandra Gardner, RDCS, and Henry Cheng, MD, have organized this SIG to provide a forum for physicians and sonographers who perform echocardiograms on patients undergoing cancer treatments and survivors to share knowledge.
Since ASE helps to set the standard in the Echo community, developing this new group will help to gather and create the standards in this growing field by increasing members and providing recommendations on education, certifications, guideline and standards, and additional requirements for this field.
