Cardio-Oncology Specialty Interest Group Leadership and Charges

There is currently a large population of people practicing and performing echocardiograms on patients that are undergoing cancer treatments and survivors. This group is for medical professionals with an interest or working in this new and upcoming field of cardio-oncology.

The goal of the Cardio-Oncology Specialty Interest Group is to help bring professionals working in this field together for tutorials, discussions, clinical education, research collaborations, and more. The SIG provides a forum for physicians, sonographers, and other cardiovascular imaging professionals to share knowledge, advance clinical practice, and support excellence in cardio-oncology care.

Since ASE helps to set the standard in the Echo community, developing this new group will help to gather and create the standards in this growing field by increasing members and providing recommendations on education, certifications, guideline and standards, and additional requirements for this field.
