Dr. Carol Mitchell is an Associate Professor (CHS) at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is a faculty member in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine and has an affiliate appointment with the Department of Medical Physics. In this role, she develops curricula for sonography students, medical students, residents, fellows and a graduate medical physics course. Dr. Mitchell received her PhD from the University of Missouri -Kansas City with the Coordinating Discipline: Education and Co-Discipline: Urban Leadership and Policy Study in Education. She has extensive experience in developing curricula for delivering ultrasound imaging content. She is certified with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in the following specialties: RDCS credential (adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography), RDMS credential (fetal echocardiography, abdomen, obstetrics & gynecology, breast and neurosonology) and RVT credential (vascular technology). She holds the advanced cardiac sonographer (ACS) credential through Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Dr. Mitchell is a fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography and Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
