ASE is soliciting writing group members for the Inaugural Commissioned ASE Guideline Topic of Unified Update on the Clinical Use of Ultrasound-Enhancing Agents (UEA)
ASE leadership has selected this guideline topic because ultrasound-enhancing agents are an established and integral part of echocardiography practice. Also, recent advances in pediatric applications, off-label uses such as perfusion imaging, stress echocardiography, and transesophageal echocardiography, as well as evolving safety data, necessitate a comprehensive and unified update. This guideline will replace ASE’s prior UEA consensus documents (2008, updated 2018) and the 2014 guideline on the role of sonographers in UEA practice. Once finalized, the updated guideline will be published in the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography.
