ASE’s Fact Sheet on Artificial Intelligence (AI) outlines the Society’s advocacy stance on the use of AI in healthcare and offers recommendations on the creation and deployment of the technology to foster innovation and improve patient care while cautioning against inappropriate use. The society advocates for the development of standardized terminology of AI applications, transparent and appropriate standards for development, recognition of clinician oversight in practice and payment structures, and ensuring a fair liability standard to protect patients, providers, and developers.
