ASE’s Fact Sheet on the Echocardiography Workforce outlines the Society’s stance on prior authorization and increased graduate medical education (GME) slots- policies that affect the current medical workforce and the future of specialty medicine. The Society supports legislation that reduces the administrative burden of prior authorization, as well as initiatives to improve the nation’s Medicare-supported GME system by investing in a fully trained, diverse workforce for the future.
