ASE’s Fact Sheet on Medicare Site Neutrality outlines the Society’s opposition to a site-neutral policy and how its passage would negatively impact echocardiography. The resource explains how the policy would significantly increase cuts to Medicare reimbursement for echo due to the diagnostic complexity and operational costs of using the imaging service. ASE includes its recommendation to Congress, which is to oppose a site-neutral policy and explore other ways to slow healthcare spending that will not harm access to continued, quality care and the provision of life-saving imaging services.
