On December 9, ASE joined the American Medical Association in sending a letter to Congressional leadership in strong support of the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2025 (H.R. 3514/S. 1816). The bill would require Medicare Advantage plans to implement electronic prior authorization systems meeting federal interoperability standards, mandate transparency through public reporting of approval/denial data and AI tool disclosures, enable tighter approval deadlines (such as 24 hours for urgent care), and require evidence-based criteria with annual reviews.
