On June 5, ASE joined the Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research in a letter to the Appropriations Committee urging Congress to reject the proposed $18 billion cut to the NIH budget. The letter emphasizes the vital role of NIH-funded research in advancing medical progress, boosting the economy, and meeting national health needs; and calls for increased funding and public engagement in any proposed restructuring. This letter builds on one of ASE’s policy priorities- supporting federal research funding.
