FAQs

Is it safe to attend State-of-the-Art Echocardiography?

This Statement is based on the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC) guidance and will continue to evolve as the COVID-19 situation changes. The full ASE Live Course COVID-19 Statement can be found here.

ASE requires all participants (including attendees, faculty, and vendors) to be fully vaccinated in order to gain entry to any ASE in-person course. Conference participants are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the appropriate dosing of the coronavirus vaccine of choice. The list of accepted vaccinations is below.

Participants will be asked to show proof of full vaccination in order to receive a badge at event check-in; badges are required to attend any in-person course activities. Face masks are required when inside for all participants at all ASE in-person courses.

Participants who cannot meet the requirements in this Statement or are unable to attend an event due to travel restrictions are encouraged to register for 2023 Best of State-of-the-Art Echocardiography. More information on this product will be available soon.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death.  By registering for and traveling to any ASE in-person course, you (and any guests you bring) voluntarily assume all risks related to potential or actual exposure to COVID-19. ASE is not responsible for any COVID-19 related expenses that could be incurred by any participants and/or your guests when traveling to any ASE in-person course (including, but not limited to extended hotel stays due to quarantine, hospital visits and bills, and other direct medical costs).

What is the hotel rate and how do I make a reservation?

ASE has secured a block of rooms for attendees at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa at a discounted rate, starting at $315 per night plus tax (based on single/double occupancy). Room rates will be subject to an additional discounted daily resort fee of $20 per room per night (plus tax).

Click here to make your reservation online.

The room block will be held until Monday, January 16, 2023, or until the block is sold out. Due to the high demand expected at the hotel and this conference, we anticipate the hotel and room block will sell out.  After this date, reservations will be accepted on a space-available basis. A deposit equal to one night’s stay is required to hold each individual reservation. Deposits will be refunded if notice is received at least twenty-one (21) working days prior to arrival, and a cancellation number is obtained. More information about the property can be found here.

You can also call Westin Kierland reservations directly at 1-800-354-5892. Please specify that you are with the “American Society of Echocardiography” to secure the group rate.

Do I need to register for the meeting first in order to make a hotel room reservation?

The room block is designated for conference attendees, only. We ask that you register for the conference before booking a room reservation. Reservations without an accompanying conference registration are subject to being released.

Can I bring family or friends with me?

Yes, family and friends are welcome to join you at the resort.  As a reminder, State-of-the-Art Echocardiography meeting and meal functions are for registered attendees only. If you book multiple rooms, please use the attendee’s name on each reservation to avoid confusion.  Reservations without an accompanying conference registration are subject to being released.

Are meals included in the registration fee?

ASE will provide breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks for all registered attendees of the pre-conference workshop and main conference Friday through Monday in The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa Convention Center. All other meals are on your own.
