As a part of ASE’s strategic vision of leading quality patient care through our guidelines, we are excited to announce a new initiative dedicated to commissioning clinical guidelines that will strengthen and expand our cardiovascular ultrasound guideline portfolio. As cardiovascular ultrasound continues to evolve, the need for timely, evidence-driven guidance has never been greater.
By commissioning new guidelines in high-impact clinical areas, ASE aims to support healthcare professionals with practical recommendations that improve decision-making and patient care. This initiative represents an important step toward ensuring that clinicians across the field have access to clear, relevant, and up-to-date guidance that reflects current practice and emerging evidence.
Please note commissioning guidelines does not replace the current method for submitting topic proposals for review and consideration.

Commissioning guidelines is specifically designed to:
- Identify and address important gaps within existing clinical guidelines
- Prioritize topics with significant practice variation
- Highlight areas where known challenges in patient care exist
- Foster collaboration among clinical experts, researchers, and stakeholders
- Promote consistency and quality in cardiovascular ultrasound practice
We look forward to engaging the cardiovascular ultrasound community in this important work and look forward to collaborating with experts and members as we shape the future of cardiovascular imaging and patient care.
