The July JASE issue is now online and features a new Imaging Strategy paper
, “Adapting Interventional Echocardiography to New Techniques: Echocardiographic Guidance for Transcatheter Myotomy using Septal Scoring Along the Midline Endocardium (SESAME).” Regarding this paper, G. Burkhard Mackensen, MD, PhD, FASE, FSCAI remarked, “As structural heart interventions continue to evolve, interventional echocardiographers must adapt their imaging strategies to meet the demands of emerging electrosurgical procedures. This paper demonstrates how expert echocardiographic guidance using Septal Scoring Along the Midline Endocardium (SESAME) can support transcatheter myotomy and underscores the critical role of interventional echocardiography in enabling the safe adoption of innovative structural heart therapies.”
This issue’s original investigations incorporate a variety of topics including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension, and mitral regurgitation. A state-of-the-art review details noninvasive ultrasound assessment of atherosclerotic plaques. Readers can also look forward to five brief research communications.
In this month’s President’s Message, Cynthia Taub, MD, MBA, FASE shares her first message of her term, “A Year of Adaptive Stewardship, Focus and Purpose,”
