Call for Committee Volunteers is Open

ASE depends on its members to get involved and advance our mission. Our volunteers help set standards, develop products, create courses, direct subspecialty activities, advocate for echo on the federal and state levels, and so much more. If you are a new volunteer interested in serving on an ASE committee or a member currently serving on a committee and would like to continue to serve, log in to your ASE member portal, click on “Resources” on the top menu bar, select “Call for Committee Volunteers” from the dropdown, and complete the interest form and annual disclosure statement.

The application process will remain open through January 7, 2019. The term of service for new appointments will be July 2019 – June 2020.

ASE Members Crush Donation Records on Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday was a remarkable day for the ASE Foundation. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, the Foundation received a record breaking $33,786 in just 24 hours! Our goal to raise $15,000 was more than doubled and we owe it all to you, our incredible donors.

The success from yesterday is not solely represented by the amount raised, but also in the number of donors who participated. Last Giving Tuesday, 76 donors supported ASEF with $26,982 in donations. This year’s $33,786 is the result of 104 donors!

ASEF sends a special thank you to the ASE leaders, Drs. Jose Banchs, Burkhard Mackensen, and Ritu Thamman, who made early pledges to match the first $3,000 raised yesterday and to the collective of sonographer leaders who teamed up to match the first $2,170 donated by sonographers. The sonographer match was almost tripled, resulting in $6,086! Four members of the Inaugural ASE Leadership Academy class donated as well, illustrating how the Society’s investment in the future of our field is being paid forward. We also had a number of members who gave in memory of Kirk Spencer, MD, FASE. We are so grateful for all these gifts and our donors – you are what makes the Foundation successful and meaningful!

If you missed Giving Tuesday yesterday, there’s still time to support the Foundation’s 2018 Annual Appeal before December 31 and help us reach our overall goal for the year of $250,000. Visit ASEFoundation.org/Donate or contact the Foundation at foundation@asecho.org.
